Madhawan completed his Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from National Institute of Technology Raipur in year 2009. Subsequently he was an Assistant Manager at Sterlite Industries India Ltd. (Vedanta) from 2009 to 2011. He joined the institute in 2011 for a Master of Engineering. He graduated in July 2013.
