Abhishek completed his Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in April 2011 from National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. Subsequently he joined the institute for a Ph.D in August 2011.

 

Currently he is working on High Temperature Deformation behavior of Nano Eutectic Composites under the joint guidance of Prof. Chattopadhyay and Prof. Dipankar Banerjee. A short description of his work is as follows:

 

" The present work is oriented towards understanding the origin of strength and plasticity in new generation intermetallic eutectic structures. Special focus will be on the high temperature tensile and creep strength of these structures as well as their high temperature properties and related mechanisms. These will be with special reference to Titanium (Ti) and Nickel (Ni) based intermetallics. "
