Khushbu has obtained her Ph.D in Metallurgical and Materials engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela in 2014 in the area of metal matrix micro- and nano-composites. She was associated with Department of Physics of Materials, Charles University, Prague for six months in 2014 followed by which she was at Department of Materials, University of Oxford as a post-doctoral researcher for a year.

 

She joined the group in November 2015 as a research associate..
