Dhanalakshmi completed her M.Tech in Nanotechnology from Anna University of Technology, Tamilnadu in year 2010 followed by which she joined the institute for a Ph.D. She completed her PhD by February 2016.
She worked under the joint guidance of Prof. Chattopadhyay, Prof. Chandan Srivastava (Department of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science) and Prof. Giridhar Madras (Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science). Her thesis was titled “Synthesis and phase transformation studies of Al45Mn55 ferromagnetic Heusler alloy”
