Advaith earned his B.Tech degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in June 2013. He joined the Interdisciplinary Centre for Energy Research (ICER) at IISc Bangalore as a PhD student in August 2014. Prior to that, he was employed as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Hero MotoCorp Ltd.
He is presently working on Molten salt thermocline based thermal energy storage for concentrated solar power under the joint guidance of Prof. Chattopadhyay and Prof Saptarshi Basu. A short description of his work is as follows:
" Fabrication and development of moltensalt thermal energy storage loop for concentrated solar power involving fundamental studies related to the thermocline instability, vortex interaction dynamics with density stratification as well as high temperature corrosion."
